Chester Zoo Guide

2 Hours 45 Minutes*

Chester Zoo is the UK’s number one zoo.

With 20,000 wild and wonderful animals and 500 exotic and endangered species there is so much to see and do.  With 125 acres to explore, wander around the amazing animal exhibits including the Realm of the Red Ape, Tsavo Black Rhino reserve, the impressive Asian Elephant house, Fruit Bat Forest and the Islands at Chester Zoo.

There are many food options dotted around the zoo catering for all your food needs.  In the food plaza you can grab food such as fish and chips, burgers, panini’s and pizza.

There is also a restaurant at the entrance of the park (Bembe Kitchen) that serves different dishes daily and a pub within the grounds (The Oakfield) that serves delicious pub grub.

Suitable for all ages.

Chester Zoo has many seasonal events throughout the year which change on a yearly basis.  Keep checking our website for trips to these events.

At Christmas you can enjoy the  spectacular illuminations, colourful lanterns and encounter enchanting costumed characters along the way!

ALWAYS finish looking at all animals in a particular area of the zoo before moving to the next.  As the Zoo is so large you can often find that if you go from your favourite animal to your next favourite animal, a lot of time is wasted and you may run out of time to see everything.  Using this method is the best chance to see everything in a day.

Downlooad the app to help you navigate the zoo better. It is extremely important to know where you are going to help make the most of the day

Chester Zoo has a couple of great play areas.  If the adults need some time to rest why not head to a play area, grab an ice cream and relax while the kids have some great outdoor fun.
